Learn More Upcoming Events -- News College's Unions and Non-Union Professional Staff Agree to Salary, Benefit Cuts During Unprecedented Economic Downturn 09/03/2020 Suffolk County Community College's unions and the non-union professional staff have agreed to salary cuts and benefit deferments to help offset mounting costs from the coronavirus pandemic, the school's president said in a letter to the College community last week where he thanked the College's employees for their help and cooperation in overcoming an unprecedented economic downturn. Suffolk's Karlson Named SUNY Online Community Leader 09/02/2020 Suffolk County Community College's Director for the Center for Innovative Pedagogy Camille Karlson, Ph.D. has earned the State University of New York's (SUNY) Open SUNY Community Leader award for her leadership and contributions to continuously improving SUNY's online teaching community. Suffolk Welcomes Back Students 09/01/2020 Suffolk County Community College will welcome students back for the fall semester on September 2 with a combination of online and in person instruction across its three campuses and two downtown centers, incorporating extensive safety measures to protect the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. The College launched a Return to Campus Guidelines website to outline policies and procedures for this fall's return. Importantly, services including the College's libraries and child care centers will be available to students. Suffolk Awarded Federal TRIO Grant to Aid Students 08/06/2020 Suffolk County Community College has been awarded a $335,000 federal TRIO Student Support Services Grant that helps support 324 low income, first-generation and disabled students at the College - New York State's largest community college. The grant's funding runs through August 2025. Michael J Grant Campus to Stage Utility Trucks and Equipment for Coming Storm 08/03/2020 As Long Islanders prepare for the arrival of Tropical Storm Isaias, Suffolk County Community College is lending a helping hand by opening it's Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood to PSEG Long Island for the staging of equipment and vehicles for storm relief without charge as a public service to the county's residents from August 3-7.
